SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 19, 1996--FormGen Inc., the leading PC game publisher with best-selling titles including "Rise of the Triad," "Duke Nukem 3D" and "Spear of Destiny," announced that it has standardized the creation and development of all current and future multimedia titles using the Ovation Multimedia Authoring Tools from Rhode Island Soft Systems (RISS), Woonsocket, R.I.
Previously, the Ovation tools has been used exclusively by the RISS development staff in the development of children's multimedia storybooks, interactive multimedia CD-ROM titles, electronic/multimedia advertising, electronic response card systems, CD-ROM magazines and front-ends, and other products. RISS has begun working with an increasing number of selected companies, such as FormGen, as it moves towards public release of Ovation this spring. FormGen has been using Ovation for the development of its new CD-ROM multimedia games and for its monthly CD-ROM magazine, "The Electronic Roadhouse."
"We tried the off-the-shelf packages, but Ovation has been the only product that could meet our needs," says Randy MacLean, CEO of FormGen. "Ovation slashed our development time and provided a tighter, faster, more robust product. We've been more than impressed by the versatility of Ovation and we know this step will further enhance our best-selling product line."
