FED: Clues to snowboarders disappearance deeper under snow

Police now believe the four Sydney men lost in the Mt Kosciuszko area were buried in the
Snowy Mountains two weeks ago as they planned to spend their first night in a snow cave.

Acting search coordinator Superintendent CHARLIE SANDERSON says some catastrophe befell the
four as they made their way from the top of the Crackenback chairlift towards Lake Albina,
where they planned to camp.

Subsequent heavy falls of snow had probably hidden any tracks or evidence of their
whereabouts.

Supt SANDERSON says history suggests the men will not be found until the snow melts in
spring.

He says he's convinced the disappearance of the four companions is not a hoax.
