Vic: Major concern as firefighting aircraft grounded

A quarter of Victoria's firefighting aircraft have been grounded by the fuel scare,
causing major concern to fire authorities.

They say the grounding poses serious risks as the weather warms up and the likelihood
of bushfires increases.

The organisations say six of the 24 aircraft kept for use by the Department of Natural
Resources and Environment and the Country Fire Authority have been grounded.

And half the 20 fixed-wing aircraft for ad hoc fire support have also been grounded.
